Built in the early 1870s, the mansion was home to Sherman David Phelps, a banker, businessman and later, mayor of Binghamton. Many "modern" amenities were built into the house, including a full kitchen, a solarium, two bathrooms and a billiard room. Today, the mansion has much historical value, in demonstrating the influence of the Era on central New York state. Learn something new about history!
