The Hyde Collection

Featuring distinguished collections of European and American art, The Hyde is a community hub for not only its exhibits, but lectures, concerts, family activities, education programs and tours for schools and groups. Founded by Louis and Charlotte Hyde, The Hyde provides changing exhibitions in all five of its galleries and also boasts a historic house as part of its museum complex in downtown Glens Falls. Open year-round, The Hyde is considered one of the Northeast's most exceptional small art museums. Its core collection includes works by Sandro Botticelli, El Greco, Rembrandt, Peter Paul Rubens, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso and Pierre-August Renoir as well as American artists Thomas Eakins, Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer and James McNeill Whistler. The museum's modern and contemporary collections include works by Joself Albers, Dorothy Dehner, Sam Gilliam, Adolph Gottlieb, Grace Hartigan, Ellsworth Kelly, Sol LeWitt, George McNeil, Robert Motherwell, Ben Nicholson, Robert Rauschenberg and Bridget Riley.
