One of Lancaster’s Favorites

As pizzerias go, Caruso’s is a classic. They’ve been in Lancaster county for nearly forever as far as most people are concerned. They’ve got five (locally-owned, of course) locations, and if this was the 1920’s, they’d basically be the “family” calling the shots and spattering those inferior pizzerias’ walls with marinara, if you catch our drift. Ok, enough silly metaphors, all we’re saying is that Caruso’s has been one of the major players in the Lancaster County pizza scene for one heck of a long time, so they’re doin a whole lotta things right as far as we can tell—and not to brag, but we’re pretty good at spotting that kinda talent.

Sink your pizza-loving teeth into a classic pie, or branch out a bit into their square Sicilian or specialty pizzas. Specialties, so you know, consist of stuff not quite as conventional as the ol’ pepperoni or mushrooms, but take pizza to a place that far too few people dare to venture. Seriously, what doesn’t sound good about bacon chicken ranch pizza? If we had it our way, it’d be just as popular as regular!

Of course, they’re no strangers to the inside-out pizza game, and their ‘bolis and calzones are a testament to that fact. So there you have it. There are a million pizza places that say they’ve got the freshest ingredients and the best pizza, so it’d be pointless to claim that Caruso’s is the best. All we know is they must be doing something a little differently, or maybe there’s just something in the water, but whatever it is, after twenty-five years, it works.
