You're tired, anxious, sick or stressed and you don't know what to do about it. Relax. Yoga techniques may help you sleep better, reduce your stress level, lower your blood pressure and heart rate, increase your energy level and clarity, lose weight and more. These classes use asana (postures), breath work and meditation to facilitate a healthy body and mind. Asanas also help to lengthen, stretch and strengthen your body, releasing knots of tension and helping you to align your body. Relaxation techniques help to calm the nervous system, heal and release stress. Breathing exercises will help you retrain your body to breathe in a deeper way, relaxing the nervous system and taking you from "fight or flight" mentality to a much calmer, truer state of being. Each class is 1 hour long including a 5-10 minute savasana (resting state). Choose beginner classes for more gentle instruction, focusing on holding the postures correctly and learning how to adjust and modify for your own practice. "All levels" classes assume that you have some experience with yoga and can be hatha or vinyasa, led verbally or done along with the instructor to provide visual and audible learning styles. Powerful flow classes are more cardio and strength training. All classes will include a brief meditation portion at the end.
