The Indian Summer Festival is a yearly celebration to educate, preserve and promote American Indian cultures. Held at the Summerfest Grounds the weekend after Labor Day every year, the festival is home to a wide variety of events, exhibits and entertainment. The Indian Summer Music Awards brings Native and modern music across a wide spectrum of genres. There is Olympic style amateur boxing competition and powwow contests. There is shopping in the marketplace and other festival features include native foods and handicraftsalong with modern art and traditional festival foods.
