Since its grand opening in April 2011, Sichuan Gourmet (previously Chinastar) has dedicated itself to introducing authentic Sichuan cuisine to the area. Sichuan cuisine is a style of Chinese cooking originating in the Sichuan Province of Southwest China and is famed for bold flavors. The executive chef and the secondary chef are both from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province. Sichuan Gourmet features two locations to serve: 1900 Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill, and 328 Atwood Street in Pittsburgh. Lunch specials are served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
